We recycle cardboard from all inbound shipments.
One of our biggest sources of cardboard comes from the bulk jewelry shipments we receive for inspection and packaging. We have a program in which all cardboard is sorted, baled and sent to a recycler for reclamation. This effort is both environmentally conscious and helps keep our operating costs at a minimum.
We recycle mixed office paper and clear plastic materials.
Whenever possible, we recycle the above materials using the same service that manages the baling and recycling of cardboard material.
We re-use cardboard during processing of shipments.
During packaging and order fulfillment operations, we use cardboard sleeves and trays to transport and store packaged jewelry, as well as to pick orders from the automated picking areas. All of these materials are used countless times to minimize disposal and waste. When they wear out, they are baled with other cardboard for recycling.
We carefully select each shipping carton.
The automated picking system at our Distribution Center in Roselle calculates the optimal size carton for each shipment. This effort helps ensure no more cardboard is used than needed.
We use air-pillow packaging inside the box.
The choice of air-pillow packaging not only provides superior product protection, but is overall a more environmentally friendly solution than "peanuts" or paper, which does not protect as well and also increases the weight of the shipments, ultimately taking more fuel to deliver.
Of course we also encourage you to recycle materials received from us, including packing, product packaging, printed pieces and mailing envelopes.
